Part of the scenery is a debut release for Niko Johannes and also the first release from Pocket Echos Label. The EP consists of four expeditious songs of heavily synth-based nature. The way Niko Johannes writes songs is by mostly playing with old mono synths, recording live audio to a DAW. Track by track these lo-fi soundscapes and harmonics come alive. Influences come all the way from japanese ambient music to Warp label classics, to modern minimal oddities. Final result is Finnish electronic forest music.

ARTIST PROFILE:
Niko Johannes is a nature man from Finland who loves to create analog soundscapes with lo-fi moods. His roots are in the nineties electronic music and drum’n’bass. Nature has been his most profound inspiration from a young age. He has a tiny cabin studio surrounded by woods next by a lake where he spends half of the year as a fisherman, picking berries and mushrooms for the needs of the whole year. Niko Johannes also writes most of his tunes in the same comfortable place and dreams of a self-sufficient life.
